Once again, we'll be donating a portion of this month's proceeds to the Movember Foundation, a noble cause charged with raising awareness for men's health. And when we say “men’s health,” we’re always talking what’s physical and mental.
Here are some quick numbers to show you why we do this:
Did you know for every minute that passes, the world loses one man to suicide? That stat’s straight from ca.movember.com.
Did you know prostate cancer is the second leading cause of death by cancer in men, following lung cancer?
Did you know prostate cancer can run in the family? The good thing is most men diagnosed with prostate cancer won’t die as it’s got a rep for slow growth.
Did you know that as of only two years ago, men in the U.S. were three times more likely to die at work than women?
And that’s just a few points.
We need to talk more about all that which ails good men right now, and especially what's prevalent; That includes the aforementioned, as well as quiet killers like Post-Traumatic Stress Syndrome and the much lesser known Post Finasteride Syndrome, a depression-dominant condition that can hit men who ween themselves off finasteride (a popular anti-hair loss drug that’s also ironically used to treat enlarged prostates).
If you know people who have no clue about this stuff, just bring it up.
If you know a good man who needs help, be there for him.
We can make a difference if we try.
Thanks, folks.
